The studio

A small workroom in Lagos, an indigo vat, and a refusal to make the same thing twice.

Who we are

Adire is a conversation between cloth and dye. We just set the terms.

DemiGlamCuts began with a single question: what happens if you treat Adire as a living material rather than a heritage souvenir? Cloth is tied, stitched or painted with cassava paste, dropped into indigo, and pulled out with a pattern nobody fully controlled.

We cut that cloth into shapes made for heat and movement — kaftans that fall away from the body, wide trousers, wrap skirts finished to the length you choose. Everything is made in small batches. When a dye batch runs out, that colourway is finished.

“I want a woman in Lagos and a woman in Johannesburg to open the same parcel and both feel it was made for her.” Abidemi Bakare — Creative Director

01 — Resist

Cloth is tied and pasted by hand. This is the slowest part and the part that matters.

02 — Dye

Into the indigo vat, sometimes more than once. Depth of colour comes from repetition.

03 — Cut

Patterns are laid so the marking falls where it should on the body, not wherever it lands.

04 — Finish

Hems, lengths and closures are completed once your order comes in.
